Alice P. Robert
Peacefully on the afternoon of March 24, 2011, Alice P. Robert, loving daughter, sister, friend, mother, and grandmother died after a long illness, in the loving care of her two daughters in Englewood, Fla. Alice will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who came within her own loving and compassionate embrace. Born on Dec. 21, 1927, in Belfast, Ireland, to William and Mary Phenix, Alice grew up on the Westside of Detroit with her extended Irish family. Alice was married to Karl Robert on Dec. 2, 1950, and became a remarkable and devoted wife, a caring and giving mother, and a patient and wise teacher. More than anything, Alice will be remembered most for her love of life and her ability to transmit this capacity to her children and grandchildren. Alice is survived by a brother William Phenix; two daughters, Janice and Julie; one son, James; one daughter-in-law, Lisa; and five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sam, Joseph, Marra, and Giancarlo were also blessed by her kindness and care. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, John in 1972, and her husband, Karl in 2005.
