THS seeks varsity boys basketball coach

Did anyone notice? Tecumseh High School is taking applications for a new varsity boys basketball coach. Brandon Schmidt resigned from the position on March 24, according to athletic director Casey Randolph.

Schmidt held the position for three years, replacing head coach Griff Mills for the 2008-2009 season. The Indians finished 0-21 overall and 0-16 in the Southeastern Conference this season (2010-2011). The position is an internal or external posting and will be open until filled.

Tecumseh Public Schools is also seeking an assistant varsity football coach for Al Romano, a middle school football coach, a head girls varsity cross-country coach, an assistant freshman football coach and a varsity cheerleading coach.

Seems like a lot of turn over.

Is it just me or does that seem like a lot of turn over in coaching?

New Coach

Rumor has it that the coach is Comstock (Adrian's old coach).

What a mistake if Comstock

What a mistake if Comstock is actually the new coach. He has no interest in Tecumseh or the basketball program. Look what he did at Adrian last season. Quit before the first game. What does that tell you. Please reconsider your selection. Tecumseh deserves better.

Comstock

Please note that Mr. Comstock did not quit at Adrian. He was FORCED out of the position because a parent had a problem with him..... Now this problem may have been a good one but you do not go to the school board days before the start of the season and make a problem.

I am not defending Mr. Comstock.... he comes with a set of problems as a coach that many do not like his style....If he is your new coach then you shall see, do not take my word for it.

New Coach?

Any word or official notice of who was hired? Is the Comstock rumor TPS has to go out and hire former Adrian Coaches (football-basketball) to get things done. Now that is if they have success. Still funny.

It's also funny that there has been no announcement yet the position has been down for weeks. Who know?

Coach

I will admit Comstock was always a tough coach that had the respect from quite a few of the players that I played against from 2005-2007. I don't know much about what happened after then but if he is committed he will help. Though I'm still in favor of having Bullinger coach Basketball and Baseball. The program needs consistency from 7th grade on up, so hopefully whoever is hired can make that happen.

TECUMSEH IS A JOKE AND WILL

TECUMSEH IS A JOKE AND WILL ALWAYS BE A JOKE. I went there for 6th grade through begining of 11th and HATED it. I love my friends there but 90% of the administration is a complete disaster. I go to the 5th biggest high school in the state of South Carolina, the #1 school on education in the state and we win almost every possible state championship there is or get pretty darn close. Coaches are consistint through elementry, middle, and high school. It's not political and parents who think they know everything dont put there 2 sense in and ruin everything.

Looks like you need more

Looks like you need more education and less sports! Active parents watch their kids succeed, inactive parents, which is what you would like to see more of, watch their kids go off to jail, or maybe stay at home their whole lives. So thanks for putting in your 2 CENTS, and making no SENSE!
