Eloise Adams

Eloise Adams, 82, of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Herrick Medical Center, Tecumseh. She was born on April 2, 1929, in St. Joseph County, Mich., the daughter of Leon and Ethel (Kelley) Cook. She married William J. Adams on Sept. 12, 1948 and sadly he preceded her in death on Nov.18, 2009.Eloise was a teller at United Bank and Trust for many years. She was a member of and Past Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh, member and past president of the Little Garden Club and member of the Herrick Medical Center Auxiliary.She is survived by her sons, Dr. Thomas W. Adams of Munising, Mich., and Dr. Jeffrey A. (Kathi) Adams of Wayland, Mich.; her daughter, Rebecca L. (Bill) Buchinger; two brothers, Dr. Carlton L. (Lynelle) Cook of Tecumseh and Glen W. (Phyllis) Cook of Okeechobee, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. At her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh with Pastor Richard Mortimer officiating. Entombment of her cremated remains will be in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh at a later date. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services. There will be a gathering for food and fellowship celebrating Eloise's life at her niece's home following the service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Herrick Hospital Auxiliary.
