Richard Linn

Richard Linn, age 77, of Tecumseh began his eternal journey on Tuesday, November 08, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born December 16, 1933 in Britton, Mich,, the son of Virgil and Grace (Winterstein) Linn. He married Linda Kanous on June 29, 1963 and she survives. Richard was a lifelong resident of the Britton and Tecumseh area. He worked at Ford Motor Company, Ypsilanti Plant, for 30 years, retiring in September of 1994. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post #34 in Tecumseh and past member of Post #155 in Britton. He was a member of the Forty and Eight Club, a past member of the Ridgeway Fire Department, and was a friend of Bill W since 1984. Richard enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and spending winters in Florida. He will be remembered for his awesome sense of humor and his fun loving nature. His greatest joy in life was his role as husband, dad, and grandpa. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his son Steven (Kathleen) Linn; his daughters Annette (John) Armstrong and Marcia (Richard) Burstall, all of Tecumseh; his sisters Janet (Jim) Wood of Tecumseh and Jean (Murray) Palmer of Carolina Shores, NC; and his grandchildren, Zachary, Caleb, and Mariah Armstrong, Konner and Kamilla Linn, and step grandchildren, Gavin and Korin Burstall. He was preceded in death by his parents.At his request, cremation has taken place. Visitation was Friday, Nov. 11 and Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home. There was a Memorial Service at the Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Burstall officiating. Inurnment followed at Ridgeway Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Britton American Legion Post #155. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michigan Chapter of the American Cancer Society or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
