Teddy Cody Collar, 75, of Sand Creek, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born October 7, 1932, in Morenci, to Wells and Lola Bertha (Cody) Collar.  

He attended Morenci Schools and graduated from Sand Creek High School on May 24, 1992.  He married Mary Lou Butler on November 14, 1953, in Angola, Indiana and she survives. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 on the USS O’Hare and the USS Zellers during the Korean Conflict. Ted had been employed by American Chain and Cable for 31 years.  

He enjoyed woodworking, yard work, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He enjoyed watching blue birds and purple martins, feeding both, and building bird houses for them.  He also built grandfather clocks for all three of his children.

In addition to his wife, Mary Lou, he is survived by a son, Dave Collar and his wife, Dawn, of Sand Creek; two daughters, Carol Huff and her husband, Allen, of Sand Creek and Barb Allen of Clayton; two brothers, Doyle Collar and his wife, Doris, of Manitou Beach and Roy Collar of Morenci; a sister, Lola Sue Wilson and her husband, Charles, of Morenci; 12 grandchildren, Ryan Reitz, Marissa Reitz, Allison Hulshof, Kelsey Huff, Jeff Collar, Lisa Collar, Brian Collar, Angie Collar, Nicole Swander, Heather Barber, , Anthony Muck and Stephanie Muck; and four great-grandchildren, Brandon Meyer, Laina Reitz, Evan Swander and Cameron Barber.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Wells Collar; three half-brothers, Thomas Langford and Charles Langford and Clarence Langford; two half sisters, Iva Emerick and Amy Collar; and two brothers and a sister in infancy.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
