RUDOLF H. “RUDY” POEHLSEN

Rudolf H. “Rudy” Poehlsen, 73, of Adrian, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at his home.  He was born January 12, 1935, in Wolmirstedt, Germany to Gustav and Elizabeth (Meyer) Poehlsen. He married Rosemarie Schultze on May 21, 1961, in Tenafly, New Jersey and she survives.  

Rudy served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.  He had been employed by Johnson Controls in Manchester for 22 years, retiring in 1997.  He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh and its choir, the Lenawee Community Chorus, the Studebaker Drivers Club and the Avanti Owners Association.

In addition to his wife, Rosemarie, he is survived  by a son, Daniel Poehlsen and his wife, Linda, of Pinckney, Michigan; a daughter, Caroline Stange of Blissfield; a sister, Gudrun Gundlach and her husband, Uwe, of Montreal; and nine grandchildren, Debbie, Raymond, Jimmy, Benjamin, Lucas, Amanda, Kayla, Katie and Erik.  
He was preceded in death by his parents.

At Rudy’s request, cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh with the Reverend Richard Webb officiating.
