ALBERT HERMANN LANG

Albert Hermann Lang, 80, of Adrian, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at his home.  He was born on February 15, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan, to Gus and Lena (Bernhard) Lang.  

Hermann served in the US Air Force from 1952 – 1960.  During this time he served in active duty and then continued on to the US Army reserves.  He was a graduate of Onsted High School.  He than attended Adrian College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1957, continuing on, he received his Masters of Education from Siena Heights College.  On September 2, 1964, he married Janet Bleich in Wise, Virginia and she survives.  Hermann was a Dairy Farmer for 25 years.  He also worked in the public school system for 15 years and at the Big Bend Community College for 15 years.  Hermann was a member of Farm Bureau.  
His hobbies included photography, books, biking, building, restoring antique cars and WWII history.    Most of all though, was his love of traveling, Hermann traveled to Africa, Asia, Europe, Mexico, Canada and he especially enjoyed returning to the scene of his boyhood visit to Germany.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Brenda Lang of Jackson, Pauline Spies and her husband, Manfred of Germany, and Eva Lang of Adrian; five granddaughters and four grandsons.  

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private burial took place on Saturday in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian with the Reverend David Morton officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.  Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home.
