Police arrest robbery suspect

The Tecumseh Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the armed robberies that took place at the Fabricare Laundromat and the Modish Hair Salon located in the City of Tecumseh. The Fabricare incident occurred on Jan. 19, and the Modish Hair Salon incident occurred less than 48 hours later on Jan. 21.

Twenty-seven year old Robert Raymond Neibler of Tecumseh formerly of Caseville, Mich., was arrested at the Washtenaw County Jail on Friday Feb. 17 on three counts of armed robbery, one count of assault with intent to commit armed robbery, two counts of larceny from a building, and two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent. Neibler was charged with the three counts of armed robbery because of multiple victims at the Modish Hair Salon. The armed robbery and assault with intent to commit armed robbery charges are all potential life sentences.

At the same time of the armed robbery arrests, Neibler was arrested on an unrelated forgery and an uttering and publishing charge in connection with a fraudulent check he attempted to pass at the TLC Community Credit Union in Tecumseh.

Neibler was originally taken into custody by Saline Police on Jan. 23 following an armed robbery at the Domino’s pizza located on Michigan Ave. in Saline. Following his arrest he was lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail.

Immediately following Neibler’s arrest in Saline, Saline and Tecumseh police departments worked cooperatively investigating the incidents. It was determined quickly that Neibler was a likely suspect in the Tecumseh robberies. Tecumseh Police awaited forensic results from evidence collected at the robbery scenes prior to conducting an interview with Neibler.
Once the forensic results returned, an interview was conducted with Neibler at the Washtenaw County Jail. In the interview Neibler admitted to his involvement in both Tecumseh armed robberies.

At the time of this release it is unknown what Neibler’s bond has been set at or the date of his next court appearance.
