To the Editor,
Thank you for the story on the front page from April 24, “Losing the Dream.” I am glad to hear from so many people and do know that there are a lot of folks who are thinking of and praying for me. Sympathy is really not the goal for my plight, however, comforting it is. Knowing that there are thousands in this country alone who have been or are being foreclosed is absolutely uncomfortable. Ashamed and depressed is no way to live.
There is not one person in foreclosure that has purposely stopped paying their mortgage. We are stretched so thin to begin with that when hardship occurs, we face impossible decisions, yet obvious, food, health or mortgage.
I’m sorry America. It wasn’t intentional that I contributed to the financial ruin of our country. I hope that I can make it up to you. So, will you help me? Help me to save the dream? This area is loaded with baseball and softball talent. I just want to do my part in the development of this unbridled fold! Those of you who don’t know me must know that when there is a need, I just step in and do it. I don’t wait for a committee to come up with a plan. I just forge ahead. I was asked to take away the big league field in Mitchell Park and put in two little league fields.
I bought a little overgrown farm and some vacant land in Clinton to build houses on to fund the private ballpark that the older kids can use here in Ridgeway/Macon. The field the high school uses is in too rough of shape for our teenagers to safely use. So I built them one here. And little league seemed to like the idea. Now, the field is in immaculate shape. Second to none in this area. Just ask any 13 to 18 year olds who were on little league all stars or a traveling team. Just ask any varsity ball player. Please! Someone step up and partner with me. This is an invitation for any help for a unique baseball and softball camp to everyone. Thank you.
