Tecumseh resident loses pet after attack by unleashed dog

To the Editor,

I wanted to write you my story. My Babee (my dog) was attacked by another dog on March 17th. She was my baby. She was a very loving Chihuahua that was hurt because of the owner of the other dog didn’t have a leash on her dog. I was walking on the sidewalk and it came full force at her. This happen in the apartments where I live but on the city sidewalk. It bit her, shook her and it ripped the muscle wall and the intestines fell out of the cavity wall. I took her to the vet and they told me how bad the damage was. She had to have surgery to repair the damage. Not one single vet would do the surgery without the money.

Anyway I had to put her to sleep. The dog also bit my Pomeranian on the neck. The person got a ticket but who knows what will happen. My Pomeranian will not eat her food and she has been so sad because she lost her sister.

All this could’ve been avoided if there was a leash involved and control of the dog. I say it was the owner’s fault more than the dogs. I say my Babee (that was her name) might’ve saved another dog or child from being attacked. She is my angel hero. Please, to all of you dog owners out there. Please have your dog on a leash!!!

I attached a picture of her and her sister so you can see how sweet they are. They are like my children and to have this happen when it could’ve been avoided was horrible.
God Bless you.
