THS coach thanks supporters of JV Lacrosse Jamboree

To the Editor,

The 2012 edition of the Tecumseh JV Lacrosse Jamboree, sponsored by Kiwanis, started off under cool and cloudy skies and like the weather gradually warmed up. The Indian Stadium venue, with its great field and viewing stands, was the perfect showcase for some of the best lacrosse talent around. Participating in this year’s Lax Jam were teams from Detroit Country Day, Detroit Catholic Central, Salem, Northville, Bedford, St. John’s Jesuit, Rochester Adams and our own Tecumseh Indians. The format was 25 minute running clock games so there was constant action to be seen on the turf.

Along with the games, there were other points of interest as well. Detroit Lax had a concession tent offering everything and anything pertaining to lacrosse. They were also gracious enough to donate a crosse head for our raffle. The concession stand was open for the fans and players. We had a speed / radar gun set up to test the player’s shot speeds. T-shirts commemorating the 2012 Jamboree sold well. Tickets were available for the 50-50 drawings held throughout the day.

The coaching staff would like to thank Mr. Randolph, Tecumseh AD, Samantha Radel, trainer, and the athletic department for their support. We also extend our gratitude to the many volunteers, parents, families, players and coaches, without whom this event could not have taken place.

We believe it was a truly enjoyable and positive experience for our student-athletes. Playing the sport of lacrosse is the only way to learn and improve and competing against quality teams is very important.

Thank you again for all that you did to help out.

Play hard. Honor the game.

Go, Indians!
