LILLIAN RUTH HLAVKA

Lillian Ruth Hlavka, age 82 of Tecumseh, formerly of Manchester died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Cambrian Assisted Living surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born February 6, 1930, in Manchester to Glenn and Bertha (Uhr) Adams. On June 16, 1951, in Manchester, she married Richard Francis Hlavka, Sr. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1993. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manchester. The joy of Lillian’s life was being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She liked relaxing by reading and listening to Elvis.

Lillian is survived by three sons; Richard (Connie) Hlavka, Jr. of Tecumseh, Glenn Hlavka of Manchester and Larry (Peggy) Hlavka of Brooklyn; a brother, Robert (Sheila) Adams of Ypsilanti; a sister, Dorothy Rogers of Tecumseh; five grandchildren, Amy Stimpson, Nicole (Brad) Chavez, Ryan Hlavka, Halley (Josh) Jewell and Emily Hlavka; and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, her parents and one sister, Marie, preceded her in death.

The Funeral Liturgy was offered Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Father Dan Wheeler as celebrant. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Manchester.

Visitation was held Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Visitation was also held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church. A prayer service with Fr. Dan Wheeler presiding with the family was held at 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
