HARVEY L. GATT
Harvey L. Gatt, age 71, of Tecumseh, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.
He was born November 9, 1940 in Dundee, Mich., to William and Helen (Spurk) Gatt. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1959. Harvey married Barbara Younglove on June 12, 1965 at Grace Lutheran Church in Tecumseh and she survives. Harvey had worked as a Manager for Smith Douglass-Estech Fertilizer Co. before taking a medical retirement. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tecumseh. He enjoyed camping, old cars, hosting pig roasts and entertaining. Harvey will always be remembered for his Halloween popcorn by his neighborhood kids in Osburn Subdivision.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by four brothers, William (Annie) Gatt of Adrian, Nicholas (Lorraine) Gatt of Milan, Lester (Sharon) Gatt of Bronson, Mich., and Roy (Cheryl) Gatt of Hudson; two half sisters, Winifred Poll of Grayling and Marlene Miller of Modesto, Ca; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Tom Judkins of Britton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Marie Barrett.
Funeral services for Harvey were held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Tecumseh with Pastor Phil Krieger officiating. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation was held on Thursday, April 26, from 2-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
