VELMA BRIGHTON MOHR KING

Velma Brighton Mohr King, 98, died on April 22, 2012 at Longwood Healthcare Center, Longwood, Fla. She was born Dec.6, 1913 in Franklin Township, the daughter of Emmett and Pearl (Tripp) Brighton.

Velma married Lawrence A. Mohr on June 19,1941. They lived in the Tecumseh area for 33 years, moving to Tavares, Fla., in 1974. Lawrence died in 1991, they had been married 49 years. Velma married Earl King in 1993, and he died in 1994. Velma was active in the Pythians of Tipton, Mich., and was an avid hunter and fisher along with her first husband. Surviving are her brother Carl Brighton of Monroe, Mich., and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Cremation has taken place with burial in Tipton Cemetery.
