Tornado siren tests scheduled for 5:55 p.m.
Area sirens are scheduled to blast a two-minute tornado test across the county at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, April 19. The annual siren test coincides with the recognition of Michigan’s Severe Weather Awareness Week. Severe weather week, which is April 15-21, has been established to remind residents to prepare for the upcoming storm season.
The Sheriff, 911 Director and the emergency coordinator at the Lenawee County Office of Emergency Management are asking Lenawee residents to review their plans for seeking shelter during severe storms and to have emergency supplies on hand such as flashlights and battery-operated radios. Residents are also being reminded to listen to NOAA all hazards weather radio or to local radio and television stations for updates during threatening weather conditions.
