JAMES W. HITE

James W. Hite, age 78, of Tecumseh, died April 14, 2012. Mr. Hite was born January 8, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio the son of W.D. “Mike” and Phyllis (Harris) Hite. On September 7, 1957 he married Marilyn Poleo in Monroe. She died on July 19, 1994.

Jim graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1952 and was a lifelong resident of the Tecumseh area. He retired from Power Train GMC in August of 1996. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh.

Jim is survived by three daughters, Laurie and her husband Kevin Burchett of Tecumseh, Rebecca and her husband Michael Klein of Ann Arbor, Carrie and her husband Leonard Snyr of Tipton, one son James and his wife Heather Hite of Britton, and one sister, Suzanne and her husband Dwight Boozer of Tecumseh, 15 grandchildren, Kellie (Peter) Gaiefsky, Daniel Burchett, Calvin Tuttle, Dakota, Wyatt and Morgan Klein, Alex, Eric and Joe Snyr, Morgan, James Spencer and Whitney Hite, Paige and William Sparrow.

In addition to his wife Marilyn, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Private burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
