JACK RAYMOND GIBSON

Jack Raymond Gibson, 74, of Clinton, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born July 26, 1933, the son of Lloyd and Kathryn (Carney) Gibson.  Jack married Mary Jane Dermyer January 12, 1952; she survives.

He was a life member of F & A Masons, Clinton Lodge, a proud member of N.R.A., served  on the ministerial and stewardship boards of Clinton United Church of Christ.  Jack was an avid outdoorsman.   He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends.  

In addition to his wife Mary Jane, he is survived by sons Jefferson Gibson (and special friend Darcy) and  David (Toni) Gibson both of Clinton, daughter Catherine Stevens of Byron Center, MI, two daughter-in-laws; Manola Gibson of Tecumseh and Sue Gibson of Jackson, seventeen grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Jack was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Dr. Lloyd R. Gibson and Jack R. Gibson, Jr.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, 2008 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.  Funeral service will be held Friday, May 2, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Clinton United Church  of Christ with Pastor Tom Uphaus officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the church from 10 a.m until time of service.
