To the Editor,
As a new staff member of Tecumseh Schools, I attended my first “opening day” meeting. There was a lot of important information given and it was nice to catch up with friends. However, I have to say how disappointed and annoyed I was by the behavior of the group of middle school teachers sitting next to us. They talked constantly throughout the entire meeting. One teacher even took off her shoes and put lotion on her feet, hand and arms. All this was going on while we were being instructed about food allergies.
Evidently she thought having soft skin was more important. If they didn’t need to hear what was going on they could have done us all a favor and gone out in the hall.
They had no idea how rude they were being and that they might be bothering those of us who were trying to listen.
I can only hope that everyone at that table will know what to do if a child in their care has an allergic reaction.
We expect our children to be polite to others, and these teachers were the perfect example of how NOT to behave.
