The Tri-County Conference held its league track and field meet at Summerfield on Wednesday, May 20, and had Sand Creek place first for the boys while Madison claimed first place first for the girls division.
In the overall final standings, Sand Creek and Whitmore Lake tied for first place while Madison won the girls division outright.
Clinton's boys placed fifth at the TCC meet and finished tied with Madison, Morenci and Summerfield in third place in the final standings. Britton-Deerfield's boys placed eighth at the TCC meet and eighth in the final standings.
Clinton's girls placed fourth at the TCC meet and finished tied for fourth place in the final standings with Britton-Deerfield. B-D's girls placed fifth at the TCC meet.
The Redskins had it's 3,200-meter relay team place third at the meet with a time of 9:08.40 while Whitmore Lake placed first in 8:42.50.
Clinton's 1,600-meter relay team also placed third with a time of 3:39.50.
Rick Smith led Clinton's boys with first and second place finishes. He was second in the high jump with a height of 6'.0” Calvin Sullens of Sand Creek won the event with 6'04.50.”
Smith won the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.00.
Britton-Deerfield's Brady Southward placed third in the event with a time of 54.50.
Kenny Cooper placed second in the 800-meter run for the Redskins with a time of 2:07.40 while Anthony Madrid of Madison won the race in 2:01.90.
In the girls events, Clinton's Taylor Krauss won the discus event with a throw of 106'9” and finished second in shot put with 34'09.50.” Caitlin Scharer won the event with 36'3.”
Ruth Lovejoy came in second in the high jump with 5'03” while Phoenix Duncan of Morenci won with 5'03.75.”
Hannah Payne won the long jump event with a distance of 16'01.50.” She also placed third (13.20) for Clinton in the 100-meter dash while Carie Zubke won the race in 13.0.
Clinton finished third in the 800-meter relay in 1:57 while Madison won in 1:52.80.
B-D had Rachel Smith place second in the 1,600-meter run in 6:01.20 while Keralyn Totten of Whitmore Lake won in 5:50.20.
Smith also placed third in the 3,200-meter run in 13:23.80 while Melanie Glinski of Sand Creek won in 13.00.80
Anna Burnor placed second for B-D in the 800-meter run in 2:35.40 while Olivia Jewett of Sand Creek won in 2:28.80.
The Patriots placed second in the 3,200-meter relay in 10:48.70 while Madison won in 10:41.60.
B-D also placed third in the 400-meter relay in 55.80. Madison won the event in 53.10.
The Patriots claimed second place in the 800-meter relay in 1:56.30 while Madison won the race in 1:52.80.
