Owner of Tecumseh Preschool sorry for closing business

To the Editor,

To all the parents, children, and staff of Tecumseh Preschool:
It is with great regret, sadness that I had to close Tecumseh Preschool’s doors on Friday, Oct. 23, after 48 years.

I know that extreme panic, anger and grief and the suddenness made the closing a real horrendous event.  My deepest apologies to those whose lives were affected by this event.  It was the last thing I wanted.

Tecumseh Preschool has struggled financially for several years.  The downturn in the economy, rising costs, declining enrollment, more competition and other factors made business  difficult to operate in the black.  I poured everything I had to give to keep the business going.  I am so sorry all my efforts and hope were all in vain.

Please know that I wanted so badly to keep Tecumseh Preschool  in business, keep staff employed and continue to provide Tecumseh’s children with quality and loving care.
I hope in time all of you who were so profoundly affected by its closing can find it in your hearts to forgive me.  Thank you for giving Tecumseh Preschool the opportunity to know, care for, and nurture your children.  They have touched our lives in ways that last a lifetime.

I wish the best to you all.
