IVAN "BUCK" MAYNARD

Ivan "Buck" Maynard, 84, of Tecumseh, passed away, May 8, 2008.
Buck was a WWII Veteran, serving in the United States Army Air Force. While in the Army Air Force, Buck flew 50 flight missions over Romania, Czechoslovakia, Austria, France, Italy, and Germany.  

He was awarded a Presidential Group Citation in addition to an Air Medal with nine Oak Leak Clusters. Buck was a member  of the Clinton  Baptist Church. He  is the former owner of Maynard Mini Services which he operated with his son Randy and wife Iileen for twenty five years. Buck was an "Ambassador" for the City of Tecumseh with his Maynard Mini Mobiles which he and Iileen were invited to many well known parades including,  Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade, Orange Bowl Parade, Miami, FL, Parade of The Ugly King, San Antonio, TX, and Niagara Falls Parade.

Buck  was born May 31, 1923 in Tecumseh,  MI, the son of Leon and Florence (Garun) Maynard.   On January 11, 1956, he married Iileen W. Beach in Angola, IN.  She survives.

Besides his wife Iileen, Buck is survived by three sons:  Curtis Randy (Maggie) Maynard of Tecumseh; Jeffery (Alice) Maynard of Evergreen, CO; and Gary (Darlene) Maynard of Tecumseh; many grandchildren;  great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Logan, his parents, three sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Clinton Baptist Church followed by  military honors performed by the Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and Tecumseh VFW Post #4187.
