It was cold, getting darker by the second and play had been suspended for at least 20 minutes before visiting Lincoln's varsity girls soccer coach decided his girls had taken enough punishment. He conceded the victory to Tecumseh with more than eight minutes remaining in the contest.

The Railspliters had a player collide violently with Tecumseh senior Hanna “Hat Trick” Hall with the Indians leading 6-2 and the accident essentially ended the contest. Hall had already scored three goals for a hat trick but looked to possibly add several more with her momentum still peaking in the second half.

Lincoln had taken the initial lead in the first half with a goal that slipped past Tecumseh's Rachael Ries just two and a half minutes into the game but Hall evened the score with a netter from the right side just seven minutes later. Tecumseh's defense stiffened up and began shutting down the Railsplitters, which allowed Hall to make several hard offensive runs at Lincoln, but was held to the outside and easily blocked. Hall finally booted the ball right in front of the Railsplitters goalie and her teammate, Ashton Lacelle, was right where she needed to be to send it flying to the back of Lincoln's net.

Hall charged right again and scored another netter at the 6:53 mark, placing the ball just over the Lincoln goaltender's outstretched hands.

The Railsplitters tightened the match to 3-2 just under three minutes later and the teams left the field at halftime to plot out their second half attacks.

Neither team was able to produce a goal until the clock wound down to 13:08. Tecumseh coach Mike Lacelle had just moved Lauren Wilt to the forward position and the move paid off almost immediately. Hall sent the ball to a wide-open Wilt and the Indians snatched a 4-2 lead. Only moments later Wilt connected again. She sent the ball in on a corner kick and the ball magically sailed over the goalie and right into the net.
Lacelle continued instructing his girls to keep their strong defense going and Lincoln struggled to take a shot at the goal. Wilt and Hall however were continuing to warm up offensively. Wilt sent the ball to Hall with 9:10 remaining in the game and Hall slammed it into the net for her hat trick. Less than 30 seconds later it was all over and Tecumseh was handed its second win of the season.

“We had some real good work from our defenders,” said coach Lacelle. “They did a pretty good job of shutting things down.”

Sophomore Jessica Frick didn't score a goal but Lacelle was pleased with her level of play on the defensive side of the ball. “Jessica had an outstanding defensive game,” coach Lacelle said.

Reis finished with eight saves in goal for Tecumseh.

On Monday evening the Indians carried their well rounded play to Adrian and defeated the Maples 3-1 with Hall scoring two goals and Celeste Holtz scoring one.

On Tuesday, Holtz was the Indians only player to score against visiting Chelsea and Tecumseh lost 4-1.

The Indians are now 3-9-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the Southeastern Conference.
