Allen Jeffrey
Allen Jeffrey, 91, of Traverse City and formerly of Mason passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Orchard Creek Assisted Living Center in Traverse City.
Allen was born on July 6, 1919, at the family farm on Lake Jeffrey in Tipton to the late Willard and Harriet (Cartwright) Jeffrey.
Allen served his country honorably with the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. After his service, he returned home and worked for Harry Fee as the Director at Hidden Lake Gardens, near Tipton.
Allen retired from Michigan State University in East Lansing. He loved all things antique and spent many happy hours at auctions and antique tractor shows around Michigan.
In 1941, Allen married the former Hazel Lillian Palmer. They have shared 69 wonderful years together. Allen is also survived by his son, John (Mary), of Traverse City; granddaughter, Kimberly Jeffrey-Kuncaitis (Rod) of Williamsburg; grandson, Philip (Pamela) of Canton; and great-grandsons, Paxton and Phinley.
A memorial gathering celebrating Allen's life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at Tipton Community Congregational Church from 2 until 5 p.m.
The family is being served by Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
John Paul Penterics
John Paul Penterics, age 82, of Clinton died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, in Tecumseh Place with his family at his side and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born April 16, 1928, in Dundee, Mich., the son of Steven and Anna (Takacs) Penterics. He was married to Norma Jean Pucylo on Oct. 14, 1950, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 29, 1988.
John attended Grace Bible Church. He was the owner/operator of Penn Acres, Inc., and a lifetime farmer. John was a silver solderer at Tecumseh Products for 30 years until taking a medical retirement in 1978, but continued working on his farm and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
John is survived by one son, David (Darlene) Penterics of Clinton; two daughters, Diane Samples of Pinckney and Christine (Robert) Perrine of Toledo; one brother, Andy (Carol) of Dundee; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Katelyn, and Davey Penterics, Jennifer and Jonathan Samples, Natalie and Stephanie Perrine.
In addition to his wife, Norma, John was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joseph, Steven, Julius; his twin Frank, and William; two sisters, Ethel and Liz Brososky; and one grandson, Timothy Perrine. John was a loving father, brother, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes on Saturday, Aug. 28. The funeral service was held at the Grace Bible Church on Sunday, Aug. 29, with Pastor Lawrence LaFollette officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for an Agricultural Scholarship Fund to be set up in John’s name or to the Lenawee County Conservation League.

Geraldine Mieduch
Geraldine Mieduch, 84, of Clinton died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, in Toledo Hospital. She was born April 18, 1926, in Detroit, the daughter of Kasmier and Jeanette Klenczar. She was married to Stanley Mieduch on July 27, 1946, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Detroit.
Geraldine was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Clinton. She was a homemaker and worked in the family business, Pike Inn Bar and Motel at the corner of U.S. 12 and Tipton Highway for 21 years. Geraldine enjoyed gardening, sewing and her greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Geraldine is survived by her husband, Stanley; two sons, Michael Mieduch of Clinton and Daniel (Rhonda) Mieduch of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ernie.
At her request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Clinton with Fr. Paul Ruddy as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of the donor's choice.

Wallace G. Stubbs
Wallace G. Stubbs, 68, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, after a short battle with Leukemia. He leaves behind his wife and soulmate of 47 years, Joanne. In addition, he leaves two wonderful sons, Scott and Chris; two daughters-in-law, Gwen and Chandra; three grandkids, Genny, Will and Madi; his sister, Janice Carden; his nephew, Marty and wife Marrite Lontz; his niece, Marci and husband, Paul Swift; and of course the irrepressible Sammy K. Swift. Last but not least he leaves a wonderful mother in law, Nora K. Wickham.
Wally retired from Tecumseh Products Co. after 31 years, his last 12 years of responsibility was as V.P. Human Resources. Wally enjoyed life, family and close friends. As per his wishes cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wally's memory may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Rd., Ann Arbor, Mi 48105. Arrangements were completed by the Nie Family Funeral Homes.
Kian McDonough Stevens
Kian McDonough Stevens, age 3 months, of Jackson, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born May 21, 2010, in Ann Arbor to Adam Benjamin Stevens and Crystal Jean Anderson.
He is survived by his father, Adam Stevens and his mother, Crystal Anderson of Jackson; one brother, Kaden Frey; two sisters, Kaylee McQuarrie and Kristy Frey; his maternal grandparents, Doug and Deborah Anderson of Brooklyn, Barbara Neitman of Tecumseh and Paul Neitman of Onsted; his paternal grandparents, Darel and Kathleen Stevens of Clinton; maternal great-grandparents, Duane and Phylis Anderson of Bradenton, Fla., David and Elizabeth Wood of Jackson; Verla Albring of Britton; and Henry Neitman of Dayton, Ohio; and Maureen Fegan of Livonia.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Jack Fegan, Dovie Neitman, and Harold and Stella Stevens.
Funeral services for Kian were held on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1448 Short St., Tecumseh, Mich. with the Rev. Richard Webb officiating. Burial was in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.

Invole F. Zuconi
Invole F. Zuconi, 96, of Adrian, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Provincial House in Adrian with his daughter at his side. He was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Arma, Kan., the son of Joe and Ellen (Frere) Zuconi. He was married to Eleanor Krause on Feb. 21, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 2005.
He was a furniture finisher for Crowley-Milner Department Store until retiring in 1977. He enjoyed woodworking, listening to classical music and was an avid history buff.
Invole is survived by his daughter, Linda Calkins of Adrian and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother.
A graveside service was held on Monday, Aug. 16, at at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church officiating,
