Tecumseh Public Schools has been using the catchphrase that Great Schools = Great Communities and we firmly believe that it is true. Tecumseh IS a great community and one of the foundational reasons is the school system. Truely, NO community can claim greatness without quality school facilities.

The Lenawee Community Foundation has made the difficult decision to postpone its 2022 annual meeting. Typically, the annual meeting brings together local individuals, organizations, and businesses while recognizing award recipients and the work of donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Politics today has taken on a “Ford vs Chevy Mentality.” Brand Loyalty, a common enemy, and the desire to argue are its main characteristics. We wear hats, t-shirts, pins, patches, and put stickers on our cars.

Collection and allocation of tax dollars is well done in Tecumseh. In the last few years though there has been an increase in taxable assessments on many commercial and rental properties in excess of the required inflation minimum.

On May 3, 2022, Tecumseh Public Schools is asking voters to consider a zero-tax-rate increase $75 million bond proposal to improve facilities at all schools, with a focus on consolidating our elementary programs into one central location.

While Project Phoenix is certainly ambitious and aspirational in scope and breadth, the cost, location and its high priority (at the expense of other needs) seems counter to the desires of most of Lenawee County’s residents.

Good Citizens from nine Lenawee County high schools, were honored by the Lucy Wolcott Barnum Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) on March 17 at Croswell House, Adrian.
