Locals to play in Lenawee-Hillsdale all-star baseball game

A high school all-star baseball game will pit Lenawee County seniors against Hillsdale County seniors at 6 p.m. on June 19 at Adrian College’s Nicolay Field.

Infielders Jalen Stelzer and Sam Brown and pitcher Ryan Tschirhart were all-LCAA first-teamers.

Infielders Ava Ormsby and Emma Fair, pitchers Kendall Phillip and Taryn Hernandez, outfielder Raven Aldridge and catcher Kyleigh Ramos made the all-LCAA first team.

Tecumseh golf notches best state finish since 2012

Tecumseh had its best finish at the Division 2 state golf meet since 2012.

The squad recorded a two-round score of 646 to finish eighth at the two-day meet that took place Friday and Saturday at The Fortress in Frankenmuth.

Steven Martin capped his Britton Deerfield career with an eventful week.

The pole vaulter won a state medal on June 3, a Lenawee County title on May 30 and solidified his future in pole vault by signing with Siena Heights University on May 31 at his high school.

Clinton’s Aubrey Lauer and Cassie McNatt were named all-LCAA first team offensive players and Cylee Elkins was named a first team defensive player.

Without telling anyone, Clinton senior Sydney Schuler arrived at practice on May 22 in her uniform.

It was her way of telling everyone that she was okayed to play after being sidelined for a month due to a sprained ankle.
