Bernice J. Cousino
Bernice Joyce Cousino, age 83 of Tecumseh passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023 at Hickman Hospital in Adrian. She was born August 26, 1940 in Ypsilanti, the daughter of the late Walter Oliver and Bertha Harris (Traver) Simonds.
Bernice graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1958 and was very active in keeping up with classmates and attending reunions. In 1960, she graduated from Stautzenberger Business School in Toledo and then went on to work as a bookkeeper. She loved to bowl and was on a league when she lived in Toledo.
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Lori (Lee) Sharrar of Temperance; brother, Thomas Simonds of Tecumseh; sister, Sharon Simonds of Tecumseh; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Cousino.
Memorial visitation will be on Wednesday, Nov. 22, from 5-7 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. Inurnment will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh at a later date.
