Carolyn Louise Faling

Carolyn Louise Faling, age 93, of Tecumseh passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Cambrian Assisted Living. She was born in Tecumseh on February 16, 1929 to Harold E. and Mildred (Haines) Wilson. She graduated from Tecumseh in 1947 and Michigan State Normal College in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She taught 25 years in Tecumseh Public Schools before retiring in 1986, where she left a much-loved legacy of students whose lives she touched through her teaching and their learning.

Louise married PFC David Faling on February 25, 1951 at the First Presbyterian Church and they had 45 wonderful years together before his passing in 1996. Together they raised two children, David (Rebecca) Faling of Traverse City and Laurie (Gordon) Whelan of Tipton, who survive. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brandi (Jason) Hess of Tipton, Breena (Steven) Cutter of Mason, Mich., David C. Faling of Portland, Ore., and Daina C. Faling of Fort Collins, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, Emily and Kirsten Hess, Alec, Caylin, Delaney, and Emersyn Cutter; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, parents, and grandparents, preceding her in death were a son at birth, great-grandson, brother, niece, brother-in-law, her BFF, Sam, her Tabby cat of 13 years, and many very dear friends, aunts, and uncles.

Watching the birds at their feeders and the animals in her backyard gave her much enjoyment in her later years as did the Duke and Westerns on TV. Louise followed sports and was an avid and long-time fan of the U of M Wolverines. GO BLUE!

Memory of Me
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life for me is done.

Per Louise’s wishes, funeral services will be private with internment at Brookside Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to the family at andersonfuneralservices.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Lenawee Humane Society, Hospice of Lenawee, or to the Special Olympics of Michigan. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
