Dale Weldon French
Dale Weldon French, age 70, of Tecumseh passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at home. He was born August 21, 1952 in Wyandotte, a son of the late Travis Weldon and Merle Irene (Christopher) French.
Dale proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 30 ½ years retiring in 2003. Dale was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh for 20 years. After retirement Dale coached high school baseball at Britton as well as little league. He loved baseball especially the Detroit Tigers and U of M football where for six years he was an usher. His greatest love was for his grandchildren.
Dale is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane; children, Vicky (Steve) Greenwood, Marcy (Brian) Sosko and Mike French; two sisters, Norma (Jerry) Hatley and Sandra French; and three grandchildren, Chelsea and Shelby Greenwood and Ryder Sosko.
In accordance with Dale’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
