Dolores Ruth Kroll

Dolores Ruth Kroll, age 92 of Tecumseh passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022 at home.

She was born December 9, 1930 in Detroit, daughter of the late Martin B. and Beatrice (Heugel) Merians. Dolores grew up in Livonia, graduating from Clarenceville High School, and worked at the “dime store” to put herself through the Detroit Business Institute. She was a secretary at General Motors before meeting Bob, her “honey” and marrying him on February 23, 1963. God blessed them with almost 60 years together in the most loving, Christian marriage possible.

Dolores was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh. She loved quilting (by hand), sewing, cooking, baking, and doing crafts.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was a beautiful woman inside and out, and a fighter to the end. She was gentle, caring, and the best gift God ever gave to her family. All her friends were lifelong friends and she treasured them dearly.

Along with her husband, Robert, Dolores is survived by her children, David (Corinne) Kroll and Kevin Kroll, both of Redford, Sharon Kroll and Susan (John) VanBuhler, both of Tecumseh; siblings, Mary Lou Moschel of Macomb Twp. and Jim Merians of Fowlerville; three grandchildren, Kelly (Jay) Hendricks of Dexter, Jeff Kroll of Laingsburg, and Zac Kroll of Six Lakes; three great-grandchildren, Easton, Jase and Ayla Hendricks. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a twin sister who was stillborn and a brother who died at birth.

Visitation for Dolores was held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh on Monday, Dec. 19.  Funeral services followed with Pastor Ted Kerr officiating. Burial was on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
