George, better known to family and friends as Ed, was born September 1, 1940, to George Bernhard Roesch and Thelma (Gust) Roesch in Adrian, Mich. Ed graduated from Adrian High School in 1958, where he enjoyed music and played clarinet in the band. He married Candace Carol Spiegel on June 5, 1960, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Adrian. Ed, along with Candy, was a long-time member of St. John’s. While farming on Wilmoth Hwy, Ed attended Adrian College and graduated in 1966 with a degree in education. Ed loved collecting toy trains and enjoyed showing them to friends and family. He was a member of the Train Collector’s Association and favored O-Gauge Lionel.

Mr. Roesch taught social studies and government at Tecumseh High School for 28 years. He and Candy enjoyed visiting presidential homes and museums around the country. Over the years, they were able to visit 42 of the 46 presidential homes and museums. After retiring from education, Ed was a manager at Roesch Manufacturing Co. LLC in Tecumseh, Mich., a family business that was started in 1936.

Ed is survived by his wife of 61 years, Candace Carol (Spiegel) Roesch; sons, Ross (Kara) Roesch, Adrian, and Rodd (Carma) Roesch, Tecumseh; and three grandchildren, Anne, Max, and Raelynn. He is also survived by his sister, Leona (Roesch) Clark of Adrian, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Ed will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Sarrault officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service.
