Geraldine Ruth Eaton

Geraldine Ruth Eaton, age 89 of Tecumseh, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at home with her family surrounding her. She was born May 23, 1933 in McBain, Mich., a daughter of the late Lester and Alberta (Klenk) Handy. She married Gerald Everett Eaton on June 21, 1952 and they have shared over 69 wonderful years together.

A music teacher for over 50 years Geraldine taught many children and adults the piano and organ. She was the head of the PTO at Tecumseh Acres while her children were in school and shared her talents as a musical accompanist for school programs. She loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and gardening. She had a love for indoor activities too: canning, crocheting and collecting copper tea kettles. Geraldine enjoyed her time traveling with her husband to tractor shows across the country where they met many friends. She was an incredible cook and was well known for her rolls.

Geraldine is survived by her husband, Gerald; children, Joseph (Julie) Eaton of Tecumseh, Daniel (Joanne) Eaton of Marshall, Michael Eaton of Tecumseh, Roger Eaton of Tecumseh, and Lisa (Randy) Klager of Saline; sister, Lois Quinn of Alabama; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; brother, Max Handy; and two sisters, Barb Bond and Joan Roberts.

In accordance with Geraldine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
