Helen E. Craig
Helen Elizabeth Craig, age 96 of Tecumseh, passed away October 9, 2023, at StoryPoint Senior Living, Saline, Mich. She was born August 24, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Beineke) Schimmoller. On August 20, 1949, she married Samuel Ward Craig in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Helen was a homemaker for much of her life, raising two daughters. Helen was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh and attended Bible study when she was healthy.
She is survived by a daughter, Colleen (Dave) Thurston; son-in-law, Ron Sackett; grandchildren, Eric (Beth) Sackett, Elizabeth (Michael Anthony) Schust, Ellen (Matthew) Furtney, Errol Sackett, Jennifer (Dave) Lingenfelter, and Dan (Chandler) Thurston; great-grandchildren, Michael (Clare) Furtney, Evan Furtney, Haley Schust, Logan Schust, Riley Sackett, Quincy Thurston, Marlow Thurston, and Kayden Lingenfelter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; daughter, Carolyn Sackett; and great-granddaughter, Trinity Sackett. Memorial services were held at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Reverend Richard Mortimer officiated. Final resting place is at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.
