Janet Kenine Osworth

Janet Kenine (Woerner) Osworth, was born in Adrian, Mich. on March 28, 1937 to Kenneth and Pauline (Phenicie) Woerner. She went to be with the Lord on September 23, 2022.
Janet grew up on the family farm on Tipton Highway with her siblings, Barb, Tony, and Karen Sue. She graduated from Adrian High School in 1955 where she met the love of her life, Douglas W. Osworth when she was only 15. They married on October 14, 1956 and went on to have 54 years together before his passing in 2010.

In their early years, Jan and Doug enjoyed roller skating and dancing. Doug’s military service brought them to Connecticut and Rhode Island, and then they settled in Tecumseh, Mich. They went on to have three beloved sons, Douglas (Lisa), Jeffrey, and Kevin (Jennifer). They treasured their five grandchildren, Kayla (Sam) Jenson, Steven (Brittany Krenzke), Cameron, Livia, and Maris Osworth. They all survive her, along with her lifelong best friend Danielle Elston.

In 1976 Jan and Doug built a cabin near Lewiston, Mich. where they had many fond memories with family and friends. Jan was talented with sewing, knitting, and various other crafts. She shared her creative ability with students at the Porter Education Center where she worked for many years. She was a member of Eastern Star and Covenant Church in Tecumseh. Janet was very grateful to Pastor Richard Mortimer for sharing his spiritual gifts. She spent a lot of time reading her bible which brought her great comfort.

The family would like to thank Tecumseh Place and Hospice of Lenawee for the excellent care they provided Janet in the last chapter of her life.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, Mich.  Burial will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Doug.
