Janice F. Schmidt
Janice F. Schmidt, age 84, of Tecumseh, Mich., passed away May 8, 2023 at Springcreek Nursing Center. She was born October 11, 1938, in Tipton to George and Pauline (Wright) Merritt. On May 4, 1968 she married Howard Schmidt in Saline. He preceded her in death.
Janice enjoyed working with ceramics. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tecumseh.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol (the late Ron) Poley of Tecumseh, and Jacqueline (Dan) Malinowski of Adrian, Mich.; two sons, Jeffrey (Dawn) Cooper, North Carolina, and Richard (Colleen) Cooper of Manchester; a daughter-in-law, Lydia Copper; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary (David) Taylor of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Denise, at birth; two sisters, Carol Lord and Cathy Quiezeck; and son, Randall Cooper.
At Janice’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15 at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Tecumseh. Reverend Jim Schenck will be officiating. Burial of cremation remains will be in Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh. Condolences may be sent to the family at andersonfuneralservices.com. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tecumseh chapel of Anderson-Marry Funeral Home.
