Janice S. Limbacher

Janice S. Limbacher, 82, of Adrian, Mich., formerly of Seneca Township and Morenci, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 at Brookdale of Adrian under the care of Hospice of Lenawee.

Janice was born on October 21, 1940 to Donald and Irene (Thomas) Powers. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1958 and Bowling Green State University in 1962. Janice taught first grade at Madison Elementary School for two years, and fourth grade at Tecumseh Acres School for 28 years.  

On June 30, 1989 Janice married Thomas Limbacher, Jr. in Adrian, and they shared 15 years together before his death in 2005.

Janice was an avid traveler, having visited all 50 states, several countries in Europe, the Holy Land and Central America. The highlight of her travels was seeing the pyramids. Janice was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she served in many capacities.

She is survived by her brother, Dennis (Juell) Powers of Overbrook, Kansas; nephews, Tracy Powers, Myron Powers, Todd Powers, Patrick Powers and William Powers; nieces, Susan Bickerstaff, Sandra Coffee and Karmel Bellew; and good friends, Sharon Hill, and Doug and Brenda Schedeler. Janice was proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; brother, Paul Powers and sister-in-law, Imogene Powers.

Funeral services for Janice took place on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Joel Sarrault officiating.  Visitation was held at the church. Janice will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Seneca Twp., Mich.
