Kathryn “Kitty” Marie Wagner

Kathryn “Kitty” Marie Wagner, age 83, of Tecumseh, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Hickman Hospital surrounded by her kids. She was born December 20, 1937 in Britton, the daughter of the late Veril and Gladys Lidster. She married Carl Wagner on September 4, 1959 and they shared 53 years together before his passing in 2012. 

 
Kitty graduated from Britton High School in 1955 where she had perfect attendance for four years. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church for over 60 years and part of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Choir. Kitty worked for the U.S. Post office in Tecumseh for 25 years. She was on the Raisin Township Parks and Recreation Committee and also Deputy Clerk for Raisin Township. Kitty loved quilting and taking care of flowers. She worked at the Raisin Valley Golf Course taking care of their flowers for five years.

Kitty is survived by her children, Shelly (Joe) Phillips, Steven Wagner, and Scott (Carolyn) Wagner, all of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Alex Europa of Bozeman, Mont., and Kaitlyn Wagner and Jonathon Wagner, both of Tecumseh. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Carl, and sister, Delores Lawhead.

Visitation for Kitty will be from 3 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor William A.  Finn officiating and visitation will also be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Inurnment will be in Ridgeway Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Choir or Hospice of Lenawee.
