Kelley Hartley Hutton named to NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Indiana University — Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) Athletic Department recently posted the following information on Tecumseh native Kelley Hartley Hutton being appointed to a four-year term on the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Committee.  The 10-member committee oversees the selection, seeding and bracketing for the annual NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship.  Hartley Hutton, IPFW’s Director of Athletics, will begin her term September 1 and continue through August 31, 2020.
 
“I’m excited and honored to be selected to the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee and appreciate the Summit League’s nomination,” said Hartley Hutton on IPFW’s Athletic Department website. “I am honored to be able to give back to the sport I love and will bring the perspective of an administrator, former coach and student-athlete. I look forward to working with committee members to continue to advance NCAA Women’s Volleyball and build on a sport which already provides an outstanding student-athlete and fan experience.”
 
Next season will be Hartley Hutton’s third year as the IPFW director of athletics after 15 seasons as head coach of the women’s volleyball team (1999-2013), attaining a program-record 314 wins.  
 
She served as the Mastodons Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) and Associate Athletic Director for 12 years, as well.
 
Hartley Hutton led the women’s volleyball program to Summit League Tournament Championships and NCAA Tournament berths in 2009 and 2012.  The program had an overall record of 314-162, including 13 winning seasons, two 25-win seasons, 11 20-win seasons, seven consecutive Summit League Tournament appearances (2007-13) and four league tournament championship matches (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012) under Hartley Hutton’s leadership.
 
She graduated with a B.A. in public relations from the University of Toledo in 1991, and played four years with the Rockets, serving as team captain during her junior and senior seasons.  
 
Hartley Hutton earned an M.S. in sport administration from Bowling Green State University in 1993 while completing an internship and working full-time at the Mid-American Conference (MAC) office.
 
Hartley Hutton and her husband, Craig Hutton, currently live in Fort Wayne, Ind., with their daughter, Kennedy.
