Kenneth M. Meyers

Kenneth Milton Meyers, age 86, passed away March 18, 2023 at his home in Cheboygan, Mich. with his son by his side. Kenneth was born June 21, 1936 in Willis, Mich. to Milton and Dorothy (Thorne) Meyers.
He married Diane Marie Nowaczck on June 25, 1959 and they moved to Clinton in 1960 where they had two children, Lesli and Roger.

Ken would always reflect on his marriage to Diane as the best seven years of his life until she succumbed to cancer in March 1966. He remained a resident of Clinton/Tecumseh until he moved to Cheboygan in 2017 to enjoy his final years of life. He loved Northern Michigan and he cherished his time on his pontoon on the Cheboygan River as well as the friends he made there, especially at the Cheboygan Senior Center.

He frequently rode his electric scooter around town; smiling, talking to, and waving at everyone he passed as well as sitting in the shade and taking in all of the shoreline fishing on the river.

Ken was proceeded in death by his parents; his wife Diane; his partner of 35 years Patricia Dunny; daughter, Lesli (Hattaway); step-daughter, Diane (Hively); and granddaughter, Shannon (Ackley).

Ken is survived by his son, Roger (Robin) Meyers of Brighton, Mich.; grandchildren, Chelsea (Nicholas) Wroblewski, Lauren (Josh) James, Corey Hattaway, Kristin Meyers, Eric (Jessica) Meyers; and 12 great- grandchildren.

Ken was a lifelong lithographer, he owned and operated Keehl Printing in Clinton, Mich. and he was also employed at Frye, Hamblin, and Swenk-Tuttle printing in Lenawee County. He coached Little League baseball in Clinton for several years and was also a softball coach with his son, Roger. Ken was a true meticulous craftsman who loved drafting, woodworking, leather crafting, rebuilding and restoring motors, motorcycles, and scooters.

To honor Ken’s wishes cremation has taken place. A short service will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 15 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 210 W. Pottawatamie St., Tecumseh, Mich. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Ken will then be placed next to his granddaughter Shannon in Clinton Riverside Cemetery at a private family ceremony at a later date.
