Mary Louise Rodriguez

Mary Louise Rodriguez, age 64 of Tecumseh passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at home. She was born on August 21, 1957 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Daniel James and Marion Katherine (Helminiak) Mooney. On May 17, 1985 she married Raymond Rodriguez in Lincoln Park and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1993.

Mary was educated at Christ the Good Shepherd in Lincoln Park and graduated from Aquinas High School in Southgate. She was a graduate of WCCC and attended Madonna University. Mary spent 30 years at General Motors, retiring in 2006. She spent her retirement years traveling, cooking, canning, fishing and Democratic rabble rousing. Mary devoted her later years to helping people through work in hospitals and institutions.

Mary is survived by two children, Celeste (Tyler Fick) Rodriguez-Fick and Daniel Rodriguez, both of Tecumseh; two brothers, John (Janet) Mooney of Beverly Hills, Mich. and Hugh (Jacci) Mooney of Melbourne, Fla.; nieces and nephew, Theresa (Zac) Stevenson of Rio Rancho, N.M., Elizabeth Mooney of Flat Rock, Kathleen Mary (Richard) Moore of St. Clair Shores, Sarah Mooney of Melbourne, Fla., Jennifer McDonald of Gibraltar and Daniel Mooney of Detroit; great-niece and nephew, Connor and Clare Moore; and her cat Maximus Quentin. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her dog, Snoop Doggy Dogg.

Visitation for Mary was from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, April 25 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with a prayer service at 7 p.m.  A Funeral Mass was held at 12 noon on Tuesday at St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church in Brooklyn. Cremation followed the service. Inurnment will be in Our Lady of Hope in Riverview. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice, the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. or to any blue candidate in a red state.
