Rick Piercy

Rick Piercy, age, 74, of Tipton, passed away unexpectedly September 2, 2023. He was born October 12, 1948, in Adrian, Mich., the son of Elvin and Betty (Vincent) Piercy. On October 2, 1970, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara J. Krzyzaniak at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, Mich.
Rick was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, Class of 1968. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic and crew chief of a Chinook. He was employed with Ford Motor Company, Saline Plant with 30 years of service, retiring in 2000. Rick dearly loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, woodworking, and weekend trips to Lake Michigan.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara; daughter, Kristy (Christopher) Warren of Newport, Mich.; son, Scott (Jessie) Piercy of Tecumseh; five grandchildren who adored him, Alec, Evan, Grace, Olivia, and Brianne; sister, Diana (Martin) Gillin; three brothers, Jerry (Cindy) Piercy, Tim Piercy, and Randy Piercy; and all of his extended family, including the Harvey, Krzyzaniak, Frayer, and Randall families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Duane Piercy.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Military honors will be performed by the Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and Tecumseh VFW Post #4187 Honor Guard.
Visitation will also be held on Friday, Sept. 8, from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Adrian or Lenawee County Humane Society.

An era comes to a close — The Kapnick family has sold Raisin Valley Golf Club to Rex Crist, who also recently purchased Wolf Creek Golf Club.
