Ron Rentschler

Ron Rentschler, age 75, of Tecumseh, Mich., passed away peacefully, May 2, 2024 at University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich., with his family by his side. He was born July 26, 1948, in Saline, Mich., the son of Stanley and Tillie (Merritt) Rentschler. On October 22, 1983 he married Debby Klepper in Tecumseh. She survives.

Ron was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, Class of 1966. While at Tecumseh High School, he was active in all sports. Ron was a veteran of the United States Air Force. A big part of Ron’s life was coaching baseball, hunting, and attending University of Michigan football games. He was well known to the youth of the community for his participation in University of Michigan baseball camps and clinics, as well as his hitting clinics here in Tecumseh. Ron was a member of the Tecumseh volunteer fire department, Tecumseh American Legion Underwood Orr Post #34, and Tecumseh Masonic Lodge #69 F.A.&.M.

In addition to his wife Debby, he is survived by three sisters, Carol (Tom) Vance, Jackie (Jerry) MacGeorge, and Shar Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews; and great niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Stacey Anderson.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Rev. Alan Maki officiating. Inurnment will follow at Brookside Cemetery Columbarium, with military honors performed by Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and Tecumseh VFW Post #4187 Funeral Honors Team.

Following the committal service at Brookside Cemetery, everyone is invited to the Tecumseh Masonic Lodge for a funeral luncheon.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Tecumseh Fire Department. Condolences may be offered online at pursemartinez.com.
