Russell Napolian Freshcorn

Russell Napolian Freshcorn, age 84 of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022 at Trinity Health in Ypsilanti. He was born March 27, 1938 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, a son of the late Clay and Mary (McKenzie) Freshcorn. On March 21, 1959 at St. James United Church of Christ in Saline he married Fay Carol Wiedmayer, They have shared over 63 years together.

Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a faithful member of St. James United Church of Christ in Saline. Russell was retired from the maintenance department at Clinton Community Schools. He was an avid antique collector and loved going to garage sales. Over the years he owned and raced quarter horses.

Besides his wife, Fay, Russell is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Audrey) Freshcorn of Clinton; siblings, Edna Gilpin of Tecumseh, Kenneth (Liz) Freshcorn of Adrian and Raymond (Sandy) Freshcorn of Onsted; one granddaughter, Erica (Jordan) Williams of Onsted; one great-grandson, Hudson Russell Williams of Onsted; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Yoder, Leah Cross, Geraldine Cooke, Maggie Garner, Bill and Charles Freshcorn.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life for Russell will be later in the spring. Inurnment will be in St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.
