Susan Teresa Herrst
Susan Teresa Herrst, age 91 of Tecumseh passed away on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022 at Cambrian Assisted Living. She was born September 11, 1930 in Ypsilanti, the daughter of the late Ricardo and Petra (Esparza) Rodriquez. On October 11, 1952 she married Theodore Ralph Herrst and they shared 56 years together until his passing on November 3, 2008.
Susan enjoyed golfing and playing tennis when they lived in Wayne. She loved to bake and care for her home and family.
Susan is survived by her sons, Boyd Herrst, Brad Herrst and David Herrst, all of Tecumseh; sister, Lenora Collins of Lansdale, Pa.; brothers, Richard (Jane) Rodriquez of Mason and Tony (Connie) Rodriquez of Westland; and two grandchildren, Holly Herrst of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Carmin Herrst of Tampa, Fla. Besides her parents and husband, Ted, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carrie Lynn Herrst, and two sisters, Delores Halliday and Rachel Rodriquez.
Visitation for Susan will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Macon Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
