Suzanne Elaine Chenoweth

Suzanne Elaine Chenoweth, formerly of the Tecumseh/Tipton area, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday morning, January 1, 2023. Suzanne was 67 and had resided at American House-Hunter in Westland, Mich., for the past three plus years.

The daughter of Rex and Janet Chenoweth, Suzanne grew up in Brighton, Mich., attended St. Patrick School there, then St. Thomas High School in Ann Arbor and graduated with a business associates degree from Central Michigan University. She worked directly for Bobby Schostak of Schostak Brothers initially as a secretary and was then quickly promoted to a strip mall manager position… an achievement she was extremely proud of. Suzanne suffered a cardiac arrest resulting in brain damage and the complete erasure of her memory at the age of 26.

She enjoyed The Red Hat Society and loved antiquing and checking out the stores in Tecumseh. Suzanne fondly remembered the women of the aquatics group who befriended her while she lived in the area.

She is survived by her three brothers, Alan of Livonia, Brian (Char) of Tecumseh, and Ted (Casey) of Grand Ledge, as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Suzanne was an inspiration to all who knew her as she struggled with short term memory problems, confusion, and the inability to function 100 percent independently. She worked diligently every day of the past 40 plus years to better herself, convinced that she was “going to make it.” She was loved and is missed by many. A funeral mass will take place at 11 a.m. at St. Kenneth Church in Plymouth on Friday, July 14, 2023 on what would have been her 68th birthday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
