Terry L. Betz

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Terry Lynn Betz, who peacefully left this world on March 9, 2024, at his home in Tipton, Mich. Terry was 71 years old. He was born on May 16, 1952, to parents Robert Betz and Marilyn Lowery Betz. Terry married Linda K. Cavin on July 23, 1976, in Ridgeway.

Terry worked for Peerless Gear for many years as a skilled mechanic. Later in life, he worked as a lineman for GTE, the Michigan Lottery system, and Tecumseh Public Schools. He was a man of many interests and talents. Terry was an avid bowler in the esteemed “300 Club” in his younger years. He also enjoyed playing softball, umpiring high school baseball, served as a local Cub Scout master for several years, and loved motorcycles. Throughout his life, he never ceased to pursue his favorite car, the Ford Gran Torino.

In his retirement, Terry enjoyed playing guitar, camping, being with his family, telling jokes, and traveling the U.S. He had an incredible talent for fixing things and inventing mechanical solutions to everyday problems. Terry will be remembered as a loving father, husband, and friend. His family will forever remember him as the King of Dad jokes.

He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Jason Betz, Adam (Tisa) Betz, and Trevor Betz (Fabi Garcia), granddaughters Desiree (Brian) Howland, Heather Betz (Adam Phenicie), and Julia Betz, brother Gary (Sue) Betz, sister Vicki Betz, and great-grandkids Brian Howland Jr., Jordan Howland, and Ella Betz.

Terry’s life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on May 19, 2024, at the Tecumseh American Legion, 101 W Pottawatamie St., Tecumseh, MI 49286. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
