Thomas Darren Stanton

Thomas Darren Stanton, age 79, of Tecumseh passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at home with his family by his side. He was born July 29, 1942 in Detroit, the son of the late Edward Hamilton and Elizabeth (James) Stanton.  

Thomas graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1961. While he lived in Bay City, he was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the Elks Lodge 88. After 30 years of service, he retired from Consumers Power Company in 1998.  Thomas loved traveling with his wife, Marilyn, and fishing. He loved golfing and was a member of many golf clubs in Sun City West, Ariz. where he lived for many years.  

Thomas is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Karin Stanton of Bellevue, Wash., and Kristin Longabaugh of Tecumseh; son, Thomas (Kelly) Stanton, Jr. of Goodyear, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Stanton.

In accordance to Thomas’ wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.  Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
