Wilhelmine E. Clark
Wilhelmine Elmira Clark, age 88 of Clinton, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023 at Tecumseh Place with her family by her side. She was born March 16, 1935 in Saline Twp., a daughter of the late Floyd Carter and Louella (Gentner) Rhoades. On June 25, 1955 at the Macon United Methodist Church she married Edward Henry Clark and they have been blessed with 68 years together.
Wilma graduated from Saline High School in 1953. She was a faithful and active member of the Macon United Methodist Church since joining the church at age 15 in 1950. She was the church treasurer for several years and also held many other positions. She worked at First Federal in Ann Arbor, Tecumseh Schools, Ford Motor Company and Saline Frosty Boy earlier in her life. Wilma taught knitting, was a seamstress and enjoyed yardwork, especially mowing the grass. Her greatest love came from the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Edward, Wilma is survived by her sons, Edward (Cindy) Clark of Tecumseh and John (Lisa) Clark of Savage, Minn.; brother, James (Judith) Rhoades of Howell; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Greg) Norland of Jordan, Minn., Matthew (Stormy) Clark of Dorr and Tom (Caroline) Clark of Brighton; six great-grandchildren, Adyelene, Evelyn, Ryan, Zach, Cayden and Mason. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, William and Eldean Rhoades.
Memorial visitation for Wilma will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 at the Macon United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Vollmer and Pastor Clark Cothern officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Macon United Methodist Church Entrance Roof Fund and the Alzheimer’s Association. Inurnment will be in Macon Cemetery, Macon Twp. Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
