William “Bill” Ernest Salter

William “Bill” Ernest Salter, age 81, of Adrian passed away on Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at his home. He was born on May 24, 1940, the son of Enoch and Eleanor (Arrington) Salter. Bill had been employed at Farmer Jack as a produce manager until his retirement. On June 13, 2001, in Las Vegas, Bill married Joyce M. Conner and she survives. He was a member of the Wellsville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and carving, gardening, singing karaoke, playing his guitar, and selling crafts at the farmers market in Adrian. Bill will be remembered by his loved ones for his excellent sense of humor, generous and kind heart, and the love that he had for his family.

In addition to his wife Joyce, Bill is survived by his children, Jean Ann (Wink) Rush of Collierville, Tenn., Bill (Vicki) Salter of Clarksville, Tenn., and Jim (Jenny) Salter of Brooklyn, Mich.; stepchildren, Ann May of Adrian, Cheryl (Duane) Smith of Saline, Michelle (Joel) Benton of Saline, and Michael (Steffanie) Siefker of Saline; 17 grandchildren, Lindsey (Collin) Champagne, John (Chaelin) Duval, John (Ashley) Salter, Logan Benton, Lea Benton, Paige Smith, Regan Smith, and Ethan Smith, Spencer Siefker, Brittany (Paul) Fingulin, Billy Salter, Matthew Salter, Devyn Salter, Chase Salter, Kennedy Salter, Reed Salter, and Brecken Salter; and five great-grandchildren, Samuel and Eli Champagne, Willow Fingulin, Logan Salter, and Isabel Duval. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Salter; and sister, Judy Odroski.

Funeral services for Bill were held on Monday, Nov. 22, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Wink Rush officiating. Burial will be held in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.
