Plans for a 30,000 square foot addition to the Ervin Industries plant at 200 Industrial Drive in the city’s industrial park off Russell Road were approved by the Tecumseh Planning Commission following a public hearing on Tuesday.

The 23rd Annual Appleumpkin Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in downtown Tecumseh. Festival organizers anticipate more than 28,000 will attend to take in the many facets of this fall event.

The recycling area at the Raisin Township hall has seen some inappropriate dumping of non-recyclable items, which spurred the township board to ask Dale Witt, township supervisor, to seek bids for security cameras, signage and lighting.
