On August 4, the voters will elect a Lenawee County Sheriff for a four-year term beginning January 1, 2021. I am writing in behalf of our present Sheriff Troy Bevier.

The June 4, 2020 issue of the Tecumseh Herald had an intriguing and captivating picture and article on the “1970 Look Back” page. The picture was of an ancient wall mounted hand-cranked telephone.

Per Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-147, masks/face coverings must be worn when in any indoor public space. This order requires that any business open to the public must refuse entry or service to anyone who refuses to wear a mask/face covering or risk losing their business license.

As a candidate for public office, I’m going to do something unusual in these times of hyper-partisan politics and that is to praise my opponent. We obviously have a different political and ideological view of the world and there are a great many matters upon which we would disagree.

Last week, C.F. Gehrke implied that my rebuttal of some of his statements were, “creations of my mind,”’ but what Dr. Gehrke doesn’t seem to want to admit is that he has a long track record of criticizing President Trump in this paper. That’s irrefutable.

Since the pandemic, hundreds and thousands of chickens and pigs have been euthanized, and thousands of gallons of milk have been dumped or wasted because they have not been able to get to or through the food processing system in America.
